The fierce urgency of now

“The fierce urgency of now.”

So well highlighted by The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. in his profoundly moving “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963, the phrase ‘urgency of now’ also must be applied, in the currency of 2024, even beyond solving racism to the higher crises of ending war and preserving sentient life on Earth.

Could now -- 2024 --  be any more fierce?

Speaker: Martin Luther King Jr
Date: August 28th, 1963
