For over thirty five years, The Humanity Initiative has featured the voices of over 300 writers, philosophers, educators, photographers, poets, musicians, and actors — those keenly tuned to life on Earth — to inspire each of us to participate in positive change.
We first presented them in our journal, humanity — equal parts non-fiction and photography. Then, in 1995, the internet offered more efficient outreach to the world.
Now — in the midst of dramatic systemic changes across the continents — we are re-imagining and rebuilding our digital presence. As we are but a team of three volunteers and a half-dozen advisors, we must make progress one clear step at a time.
Curating our content into a highly accessible format comes first, as you are beginning to see across this site. Not least, we also are working on a template for peace gatherings, on a watershed proposal, and on a worldwide high-school course on positive change.
We seek to fund our growth on the strength of small donations from across the continents. Your generosity and kindness are deeply appreciated. Even the most humble donations help to sharpen and expand our mission, as we aim to hire our first staff as soon as possible.
Here is Jacqueline Wigglesworth, our colleague for twenty years, speaking from the heart chakra of the planet, in Glastonbury, England, urging your support and participation, making the case for redeeming our humanity.
Thank you for joining us!
Tony, Jacqueline, Ky, and Lee.

“My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.”
~ Desmond Tutu

In the 1980’s — in the Peruvian countryside above the ancient village of Cuzco — Belgium photographer Victor Englebert, riding a bus, saw this young girl waiting alone at the next stop. She did not move either as the bus approached…or departed.
